Danny Murphy joins Mark Chapman and Darren Fletcher at Old Trafford on Sunday for highlights of Manchester United v Liverpool on MOTD2 in 22:30 BST on the BBC Sport site and BBC One.
Liverpool will perform exactly the identical manner they constantly play, because they do not alter that for anybody when they go on Sunday.
That means their regular formation, and playing on the front against Manchester United – trying to win the game, each week like they do.
Manchester United dont have firepower either, and are not playing with any optimism at the moment, so out of Liverpools standpoint this is a true opportunity.
Whoever is healthy for United, I think their mindset is a tiny bit fearful right now, and Liverpool will know that they might be edgy.
So examine them and they could proceed to re examine them and try to win the ball up the pitch.
If Liverpools strength is as large as its when they do that they are going to cause United lots of issues.
Sundays game feels quite different for this fixture last year, which ended up being a missed opportunity for Liverpool when they have been held 0-0 at a game that became quite disjointed following a run of accidents that are early. United saw Juan Mata, Ander Herrera and Jesse Lingard head off injured prior to half-time, while Liverpool dropped Roberto Firmino after half an hour.
There were far more nerves involved for Jurgen Klopps aspect it was the end of February and matters were tight at the top of the table, so it was a game they couldnt afford to miss.
Setting up the way they did to perform on the break was not the worst strategy on earth and was the end result. Because in the name run-in Manchester City were of relentless it was only pricey. The side of klopp only dropped just two points in their remaining 11 games – but City didnt drop any from Januarys end, also won the league.
It was a United group back in February. Following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer had taken temporary control in December, they were still on a great run, and it was a much harder game .
This time, United are struggling, after winning their first eight matches which theyre not in a position where theyll be feeling any 41, while Liverpool also have such a healthy lead on top of the table.
If they were defeated as far as the larger image goes, Liverpool are just eight points clear so it would not even matter too much this time, but I do not see that happening. Im backing them .
The way that I expect United to play should match Liverpool down into the ground.
Should United come out and assault, which is exactly what I think will happen, then that will play into the hands of Liverpool .
If United are at home, there is always a responsibility for them to get a go at the resistance, particularly in this particular fixture – and even more so now due to their recent form.
United want a response since their performances have been lacklustre and lethargic in a lot of ways.
That is partly down to accidents, and we still dont understand what type of team Solskjaer can place out this weekend – which is another reason why I see the team leaders because powerful favourites to make it nine Premier League wins from nine.
It will not produce much difference, even though United do sit back, which I cant see them doing.
YesLiverpool have discovered it harder against groups who have done this, but they have created chances and ended up winning the game.
If United try to deny space and put numbers, they are only waiting to be beaten – and that I do not think that will be accepted by their fans.
I am financing Liverpool, but that I dont find a success – .
A lot depends on Uniteds team. We understand Paul Pogba is out but should Anthony Martial is fit then that will be a big plus for them.
The goal for England in Bulgaria on Monday of marcus Rashford will have done him a lot of good. A three of Daniel James, Martial along with also him is obviously dangerous because of their speed.
But in the present time – that they arent getting the ball up the pitch often enough to give their chances.
Solskjaer has not been able to solve that issue because his squad does not have sufficient strength in depth.
A great deal of this moment, his team has picked itself by whos available, and they havent found the right balance in midfield.
By comparison, whoever is at the midfield of Liverpool, it does not seem to matter.
Players can be always rotated by klopp in this area because they all play disciplined roles – and are ready to work hard.
All of them monitor back, and all of them press. Theyll assist the team reach the front foot, but they will become a defensive form if they have to.
One of the ways that they do that is by covering the full-backs when they fly. On the ideal side when Trent Alexander-Arnold goes high up the pitch, Jordan Henderson fills in for example.
In an perfect world, you would want more targets from that section but lets face it, such as Liverpool have, in case you have won eight matches on the spin without actually playing that well , then this suggests you arent short of firepower.
