Claressa Shields vs Ivana Habazin fight off after trainer attacked at weigh-in

Claressa Shields fight inside her hometown of Flint, Michigan, was called off after her competitors trainer was injured in an altercation.
Shields was presumed to battle Ivana Habazin of Croatia on Saturday night, but bout has been called off by the WBC later James Ali Bashir, Habazins trainer, was hospitalised after Fridays episode.
The WBC strongly condemns any act of violence in any event related to our sport, and especially the dreadful attack which took place in a formal action surrounding this event, the body said.
The WBC is certain that the corresponding government will apply the full scope to the law to this regrettable incident, it added.
After the two fighters had been at the pre-fight event in Flint about the scales, bashir was seen arguing with an unidentified person.
It was supposed to be Shields first fight in her hometown.
The Olympic winner has won titles and she merged the middleweight straps in April with a triumph over Christina Hammer.
She took this fight trying to turn into a champion.
It had to be postponed because of an accident to Shields, although the fight was originally scheduled for August 17.
