Preston’s Daniel Johnson and Swansea’s Steve Cooper win Sky Bet Championship August awards
Preston midfielder Daniel Johnson has been Appointed the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for August.

Johnson stated:”On an individual level I am pleased to get the award, but minus the boys this wouldn’t have been achievable, so credit for them too.

Swansea manager Steve Cooper was named the Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month.

Cooper stated:”This award isn’t about an individual – it’s a manifestation of the hard work and effort put in not only by the players however, the coaching staff and everyone on the club.
„In the bit of time I have been here, it is clear to me that every single person working for this football club is indeed excited and driven to help Swansea City advancement.
„Results-wise it has been a fantastic beginning for people, and I am delighted for everyone none more so than the fans since they’ve been incredible.
„We’re only six games in so we aren’t getting carried away. The challenge for everybody now is to stay focused and continue working hard to make sure our good start is over that.”
Supervisor: Ipswich, Paul Lambert
Ipswich manager Paul Lambert was named the Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month.
Turning a mindset around is not easy. Ipswich won five games last season, however they handled four victories at an abysmal August relegation and picked up 14 points. Lambert’s beliefs in his players is now catching.
Lambert explained:”It is great to receive the award but it’s a collective for everybody involved. By the service behind me from the team I brought into the individuals who I’ve inherited has been fantastic. The players are performing each week and if they do that, you have the plaudits.”
Player: Peterborough, Marcus Maddison
Peterborough midfielder Marcus Maddison was named the Sky Bet League One Player of the Month for August.
August attracted three goals and six assists for the midfielder. Since the month went to the point at which he had been virtually unplayable at a central part from Sunderland and MK Dons, against both of whom he scored free kicks maddison enhanced.
Maddison said:”it’s an award I haven’t won previously, so I am really happy that I’ve been given this award.
„It does mean a lot. I’ve had a good start to this seasonI have belief in my team-mates, the manager was brilliant with me personally and now I’d say I’m not really at full gym yet, so to win the award off the rear of that, is good. Hopefully I can carry on my shape and the team can take that form forward.”
Manager: Matt Taylor
Exeter director Matt Taylor has been named the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month.
Three times in August his negative plundered a goal in the last five minutes. That flipped an average start into an outstanding one with 14 points from six games.Taylor has his players hungry to mount a marketing challenge.
Taylor said:”It’s been a great month, but that is all down to the players. I’ve got a support staff that I’m grateful for, and then it’s because the results are there, if there is a supervisor given the manager of the month – and that is down to the gamers.
„You wish to continue playing well, you would like to keep on picking up points. In which the accent had been on the chances to come in the upcoming few weeks we had a personal meeting, and we have got to take advantage of them.
„The lads seem to be enjoying their football and their own coaching. Game is odd, and it changes so quickly, although they’re working hard. A little luck here and there, which we’ve had so far this season, but the performances need to continue building and I’m going to keep asking for more from that collection .”
Player: Grimsby, James Hanson
Grimsby striker James Hanson has been appointed the Sky Bet League Two Player of the Month for August.
Strikers just want to be adored and at Blundell Park, Hanson has been made the focus of the Grimsby attack – handed the source of crosses on. Five goals and 2 assists in August included a header.
Hanson said:”When you come to a different club you constantly attempt to hit the ground running, and mercifully I have done that so far. I’ve managed to get 5 goals and three assists and the team has begun.
„I’m thrilled to get it, and it only shows how well we’re doing as a team as well, and the gaffer was at the nominees for the Manager of the Month award. So it only shows that we are on the perfect path, and we have started the way we wanted to get started.”
