Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil and Sokratis rested for Eintracht Frankfurt trip, says Unai Emery

Arsenal head trainer Unai Emery has chosen to rest Mesut Ozil along with centre-back Sokratis for Thursday’s Europa League group stage opener at Eintracht Frankfurt.
Ozil made his initial appearance of the season in Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Watford, enjoying with 71 minutes, but Emery explained the midfielder will be rested before the weekend’s Premier League game against Aston Villa, live on Sky Sports Premier League.
„Sokratis and Mesut (are) rested for this game. We’re planning to play another match on Sunday,” Emery said.
„My decision is since he (Ozil) played, I’m thinking (of) tomorrow’s original XI and following that deciding who is the very best for tomorrow.
„The first game he played on Sunday he played good with his capacity and abilities, his first minutes for us was great. These days he is going to be assisting us. Sunday we are going to play another game.”
Arsenal were criticised after enabling the home side to shoot a league-record 31 shots on target and dropping a lead against bottom-side Watford, using their strategy of playing out from the defence backfiring.
Emery said Arsenal look to increase on the operation of Sunday by using a leaf from the screen against Watford whenever they went 2-0 up and would stick with their guns against Frankfurt.
„The very first analysis is determined by how we can enhance and regain our confidence, controlling and starting the game,” Emery added. „Sunday we fought more than we ever wanted and we made some mistakes and conceded some goals.
„we would like to control every match with the ballwith placement. We did Sunday at the first half”
Frankfurt reached the semi-finals last year, in which they had been defeated by eventual winners Chelsea and Emery – that has won at the Europa League three times using Sevilla but lost last season’s final – stated he was looking forward to a”new challenge” this season.
„Normally Eintracht do good pressing,” Emery said. „Some mistakes we made on Sunday we need to improve. Tomorrow is just another challenge to show how we could improve.
„Last year Frankfurt played at exactly the exact semi-final as Chelsea. To start together is a match that is challenging.
„We’ve got great feelings for the contest within this season. We lost the final last season but this can be a fresh challenge for us.”
