Trent Alexander-Arnold says teams must be punished for racism

The Trent Alexander-Arnold of liverpool states fans and teams should be penalized for racism after fighter chants were directed at Romelu Lukaku at a match against Cagliari.
The Inter Milan striker was targeted during the 2-1 win over Cagliari on Saturday 1, but the German FA’s sporting justice panel ruled Wednesday the chants couldn’t be considered discriminatory concerning the”scale and realisation”.
Alexander-Arnold claims their supporters and all groups have to be punished for episodes of discrimination in soccer matches.
„Obviously I think that the Italian FA had their reasons for not penalizing them [Cagliari] however I think every team should be punished. Every group’s fans ought to be punished for all those sorts of activities,” that the Liverpool full-back said.
„It shouldn’t be occurring in the game, nowadays especially. I believe it’s disappointing to see that.
„But I’m positive that Lukaku especially is a strong enough personality to break that, like you’ve seen straightaway -he watched the punishment and was able to close the fans up straightaway.
„This has been a positive for him and I am sure he will bounce back from this and keep on doing what he can, scoring goals.”
After getting abuse in the aftermath of conceding a penalty liverpool left-back Andy Robertson deactivated his Twitter account.
Alexander-Arnold claims that the players will rally round Robertson and be sure that the Scotsman has.
„He’s mentally a really powerful character, so I am sure whatever reason he had for doing this was for the best for him personally ,” Alexander-Arnold added.
„Therefore, I think whenever we see each other next, it will be obviously to observe the way he is, make sure that nothing is too bad. I believe all the lads could have texted him and talked to him, to make sure everything is OK.”
