A 2-0 lead threw away at Watford as Quique Sanchez Flores’ side earned a 2-2 draw.
A typically expert finish from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’d Arsenal forward (21) even though Watford’s calls for a foul at the build-up, along with the Gabon striker made it 2-0 shortly after with an easy finish from a fine Gunners movement (32).
Watford halved the deficit only following the break during Tom Cleverley since Sokratis was captured playing from the trunk (53), and Arsenal shot in the foot as David Luiz tripped sub Roberto Pereyra at the region, and he duly dispatched the punishment (81).
Watford ought to have won it at a disorderly final 15 minutes, but also the thrilling affair ended level while Watford stay underside but with their confidence .
Though Arsenal looked clinical at the first half at the final third , they faced 31 shots at their goal, because Opta started collecting such data in the division at 43, the most they have ever confronted in a Premier League fixture.
Following a reception for returning manager Quique, Watford in the first stages on top, went closest through Tom Cleverley’s long-range effort by Bernd Leno, as Arsenal fought to find.
But the lead was taken by the Gunners . Watford pleaded to get a free-kick on halfway as Dani Ceballos robbed Will Hughes, but drama as Sead Kolasinac fed Aubameyang, whose strong touch and very low shot beat Ben Foster. VAR Daniel Cook briefly looked, but was satisfied with the choice, unlike Watford lovers.
As Mesut Ozil, enjoying his very first minutes this year, brilliantly cooked Ainsley Maitland-Niles in-behind the defence to the right of this box, it was 2-0 only 11 minutes, along with his center was for Aubameyang to flip home simple. Though the striker took the glory, both Maitland-Niles’ conduct and the area of Ozil were remarkable.
Arsenal didn’t learn their lesson. Sokratis’ move from six yards out following Gerard Deulofeu intercepted a Leno target kick , and the ball fell for Cleverley. The goal came, although replays showed Deulofeu was in the box when the goal-kick was shot.
Watford had their tails up, peppering Leno’s target from all angles, even as Arsenal brought on Joe Willock, Reiss Nelson along with Lucas Torreira for both Dani Ceballos, Mesut Ozil and Matteo Guendouzi in an attempt.
Watford sub Ismaila Sarr proceeded dragging broad as he turned with his back to target following Deulofeu’s cute pass, but they have the goal their pressure deserved through a second Luiz accident.
The Brazilian was hit by the catchy feed of Pereyra just in the box, and it was the Argentine himself that divides off himself to slot bottom left corner for 2-2.
The roof would have lifted off Vicarage Road’d Deulofeu never missed the far post by inches only minutes afterwards, or had Leno not saved from Abdoulaye Doucoure at point-blank variety, but it somehow stopped flat despite the chaos of the’you still have a go, we’ve got a go’ final 15 minutes.
