Chris Silverwood favourite to take over as England head coach
England are close to appointing a new head coach the present favourite for the job.
Talks over the consultation have been occurring this weekend and silverwood, whos currently Englands bowling coach, has been interviewed for the function, Sky Sports News knows.
He is currently set to substitute Trevor Bayliss, that left after four years in charge a month as head coach, and a statement could be made as early as next week.
Gary Kirsten, the India and South Africa coach, is also known to have been interviewed by the ECB.
Silverwood is familiar with this England setup having worked under Bayliss, also won the two divisions of the County Championship while.
The 44-year-old, who was a pace bowler using Yorkshire, performed with six Tests and seven one-day internationals to England between 2002 and 1996.
He is currently set to become only the second Englishman to coach the group on a full-time foundation since 1999.
