Bend caught out Ten Sovereigns in The Everest
Aidan OBrien believes Ten Sovereigns failed to handle the bend because he ended last of 12 Trainers in The Everest.
Even the July Cup winner has been headed by Ryan Moore in Saturdays six-furlong warmth, that boasts a first prize in excess of #3.6million, however he was defeated a half lengths by winner Yes Yes.
Before lining up at the Sydney venue, ten Sovereigns had not hurried around a bend, also OBrien felt the lack of experience advised as he stayed again in the straight.
He explained:Ten Sovereigns got a little bit lost on the bend. It was new to him, and they are probably more sprinters there around a bend.
We have not decided whether well go down to Melbourne with him or not. He was about three or four lengths detached coming out of the bend, but he shut in behind them up the right.
While Ten Sovereigns Australian raid had been unsuccessful, OBrien enjoyed two winners at Ascot on Champions Day – and is mapping out his struggle to next Saturdays final Group One of the British season – the Vertem Futurity Trophy at Doncaster.
The Ballydoyle handler is eyeing the shuttle occasion for Beresford Stakes winner Innisfree and Leopardstown Group 2 scorer Mogul.
He added:Mogul and Innisfree seem like our two horses for Doncaster next week.
